Safeguarding
As a proud community football club, operating since 1971, child welfare is at the heart of what we do.

All Barnes Eagles FC coaches, volunteers and parents are responsible for the Club’s compliance with the child protection and welfare issues that are related to running a youth football club.

The Club Welfare Officer, Julie Rose, is responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of all members under the age of 18.
She can be contacted at Juliebefc71@outlook.com

The club policies mirror The FA guidance on welfare issues, specifically following our Safeguarding Children Policy, which can be read HERE.

All Managers and Coaches must complete the following before taking charge of a team:

-
DBS check
-
Minimum FA Level 1/Introduction to Football Award
-
FA Safeguarding Children Workshop
-
FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football

Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns for the welfare of a child at Barnes Eagles FC, we urge you to contact our Welfare Officer or use follow this helpful guide HERE.

FA Respect
We expect the highest standards of conduct from our players, parents and supporters. We are passionate supporters of the FA Respect campaign.
The role of the Club Welfare Officer is key to ensuring that Respect is understood, taken on board by the committee, coaches/managers members and supporters.

Whistleblowing

Whistle-blowing in a safeguarding context means revealing and raising concerns over misconduct or malpractice within an organisation, or within an independent structure associated with it.

It can be used as an early-warning system or when it’s recognised that appropriate actions have not been taken. This approach or policy is adopted in many different walks of life. Any adult or young person with concerns about a colleague’s conduct towards a child or young person can also use whistleblowing by calling 0800 169 1863 and asking for The FA’s safeguarding team, or via email to: Safeguarding@TheFA.com
Alternatively, concerns can be reported:

-
Direct to the local Police or Children’s Social Care services; or
-
The Child Protection in Sport Unit at cpsu@nspcc.org.uk; or
-
The NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000 or email: help@nspcc.org.uk

More information on Whistleblowing can be found on The FA's website HERE.
